An August Wedding at Ted Ensley Gardens, Topeka | Professional Manhattan, KS Wedding Photographer | Stacey Zoll Photography

Hola! Last weekend I had the pleasure of photographing a wonderful morning wedding at Lake Shawnee in Topeka.  The morning weather was wonderful and it was a gorgeous event with a great crowd of guests that seemed to really enjoy one another's company.  It was a lot of fun to see everyone having such a great time.

The Bride and her family got an early start to the day at the Ramada West hotel in order to be ready for the 10am ceremony.  Our time at the hotel included a first look with her Father, as well as her Bridesmaids.  Her Father then placed an original 1903 Indian head penny in her shoe for her walk down the aisle; the penny is the same penny that her Mother wore in her shoe at her own wedding.  It was such a simple, but sweet and meaningful gesture that was really fun for me to witness.  The Bride also surprised the Bridesmaids with homemade gift boxes that included an Origami Owl necklace and a sweet handmade note for each of them.

The ceremony took place under the pergola at Lake Shawnee that was full of spring flowers; it was truly a gorgeous setting.  The Bride arrived to the location in a white, horse-drawn carriage with her Father.  The ceremony was short and sweet and included a unity sand ceremony.  At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Bride & Groom took a small ride around Lake Shawnee in the carriage by themselves.

The reception was held at the Garden House at Lake Shawnee, which has a nice outdoor patio around a small inner room.  The Bride & Groom did their cake cutting and first dance, as well as the bouquet and garter toss (where the men watched the garter fly past them and then no one wanted to pick it up! haha).  The Father/Daughter dance was especially touching as the Bride and her Father shared tears of joy; the love between her and her parents was particularly evident that day.  Those are the types of moments that make me so happy to do what I do.  The Groom also had a nice dance with his proud mother, and the rest of the afternoon the guests visited, laughed, and had a great time.

To the Bride & Groom, I wish you a lifetime of love, happiness, and making each other laugh!  Thanks so much for allowing me to share this day with you and your family, and God Bless you and your marriage always.

A Beautiful Backyard Wedding in Topeka | Professional Manhattan, Kansas Wedding Photographer | Stacey Zoll Photography

This gorgeous wedding was held in the backyard of the Groom's parents home in July.  The family and wedding party were a lot of fun and it was a pleasure spending the day with them!  The rain subsided for the day, thankfully, so the Bride & Groom were able to exchange their vows in the flower garden, planted and maintained by his father, surrounded by their family and loved ones.  Misters (the water producing kind.. not men, LOL!) in the audience helped to keep the guests cool during the ceremony, which included a unity sand ceremony as well as a family prayer with the couple, their children, and their parents.

The Bride & Groom both got ready in separate parts of the house until their "First Look" prior to the ceremony.  The family's basement is complete with a bar, shuffleboard, etc. so guests had a great time down there while waiting for the ceremony to begin.

Upon completion of the ceremony, the wedding party spent some time in a limo and relaxing while the guests headed to the reception at the Gage Park Shelter House.  The wedding party, couple, and I took some additional photos after dinner when the heat had subsided quite a bit.  It was a beautiful day and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, and the air conditioning!

I wish the Bride & Groom and their adorable family a lifetime of happiness together, and thank you so much for letting me share in this occasion!
