We began the day getting ready at the Ramada in Topeka. The Bride's shoes were a pair of Converse in her wedding colors, and her son and ring bearer received a red pair of Converse as a wedding gift that morning. Thunderstorms were predicted for the day but the rain was kind enough to hold out until after the ceremony so that we were able to enjoy the morning outside! Once everyone was ready, the women loaded into the party bus and we hit up a few different destinations for some fun photos. The trip began with a quick stop at a local liquor store which was an opportunity for some unique photos that could not be missed! Luckily, the employees didn't seem to have a problem with our random photo op! We then headed over the the area near the Governor's mansion where not one, but TWO trains decided to grace us with their appearance! I am pretty sure trains passing by your photo location at the time of the photos is a great sign for a happy marriage! Or at least it should be! The men headed downtown for some fun street photos with my second photographer and ended up with their own set of awesome, fun photos.
The Bride & Groom's ceremony and reception were held at the quaint, beautiful 6th Avenue Ballroom in Topeka. They did not see one another prior to the ceremony, and the Bride recorded a special song for the Groom for her walk down the aisle. The ceremony also included a unity sand ceremony, a prayer of the new family of four, and some larger-than-life smiles as the Bride & Groom said "I Do."
The reception was a lot of fun and consisted of a photo booth for the guests, an awesome silhouette cutout cake topper, beautifully made table centerpieces, cupcakes for the guests, great food, a talented DJ, and loads of fun!
It was an honor to take part of such a special day, and I hope their photos bring them smiles for a lifetime to come!!
