An Outdoor Chapel Wedding at Lazy T Ranch | Manhattan, KS Professional Photographer

Oh man! I can't wait for you to see the beautiful photos from last Saturday's wedding at Lazy T Ranch, Manhattan, Kansas!  The Bride & Groom, a Kansas State University student and alum, booked the ranch for the day so we began the day at the Farm House on the property with the women getting ready in the front living area and the men in the back.  The Bride wore the dress and veil that was previously worn by her soon-to-be Mother-in-Law for the occasion; the wedding band was also provided by the Groom's mother.  The bonds between both families were evident and a pleasure to witness.  The Bride & Groom did not want to see one another prior to the ceremony so separate portraits were taken with both sides of the family prior to the ceremony, as well as photos with them together afterwards up on the hill.

The ceremony the couple arranged was really phenomenal!  The Groom's father built a customized set of wooden doors and altar, complete with stained glass and a cross for the occasion, creating an outdoor chapel on the top of the hill at the ranch.  Guests were taken to the ceremony location via hayrack ride, and greeted by the gorgeous wooden doors.  The ceremony took place at 7pm just before sunset creating gorgeous light for the occasion as well.  The Bride was brought up the hill for her entrance on the back tailgate of a pickup truck.  During the ceremony, the fathers of the Bride & Groom signed the marriage license on the altar in front of the couple.  The weather ended up being perfect, the view was spectacular, and the entire ceremony was truly beautiful.

The ceremony was followed by a reception in the large metal barn which was decorated with lights, draped ceilings, and fresh flowers and other accents on the table.  The couple had a wonderful first dance and also surprised their newly married Aunt & Uncle with a first dance of their own since they did not have one on their own wedding day.  The DJ, BowTy Audio, provided a fog machine and laser lights making the ambiance of the reception a lot of fun; everyone had a great time.  The cake was provided by the local Billy Vanilly Bakery.

I truly enjoyed spending the day with this family.  I am so happy I was able to document all of these personalized touches provided by the families for the event, and even more so to witness the joining of their lives together.  I know they will be a blessing to one another for the many, many years ahead of them.
