Newborn Girl {3 days New} - Manhattan, Kansas | Photographer

Here are some photos of an adorable baby girl and her Army family.  Her big brother is 17 years old so this was a unique family session for me, and I wanted to make sure that he was involved in the photos as well!  I was also able to photograph this couple's pregnancy reveal and maternity photos so I was able to join in their journey.  Part of what I love about photography is being able to join families in their journey through life, whether it is just yearly portraits, pregnancies, a child's first year, or a young couple that is getting ready to be married.  It is such an honor to be a part of such momentous occasions.

A Wedding at the Westin | Kansas City | Manhattan, Kansas | Wedding Photographer

Right after Valentine's Day I was honored to photograph a small wedding in Kansas City at the Westin Hotel at Crown Center.  It was a gorgeous ceremony, complete with personally written vows and a "blessing of the rings", in which the rings were passed around the guests to be prayed over before the couple exchanged them.  There was laughter and tears, making it the perfect occasion!  The ceremony and reception were held on the top floor surrounded by windows; the ceremony itself was right about sunset so the light was nice and warming as well.  There were many candles and a gorgeous fire after sundown making for a gorgeous, relaxing reception, complete with a cake that looked just like a pizza!

And (yes I realize I should not start a paragraph with And!, buuutttt...) it wouldn't be a post by me if I didn't mention the weather, which was miraculously in the 40's that day!! It had been below freezing for weeks, but God smiles upon us with warmer temperatures for safe travels, and some outside pictures (without jackets!) with the beautiful KC skyline.  I Love the way their photos turned out and I can happily say that the Bride & Groom have been wonderfully grateful as well!

9 Month Portraits | Manhattan, Kansas | Family Photographer

Hello! I am happy to share the 9 month portraits of this little guy today! His Mom wanted a blue backdrop to bring out those gorgeous baby blues, and that is exactly what we did! He was super adorable and I really enjoyed working with him and the parents he was nice enough to bring along.  For a little variety, we brought out the rocking horse so he could show off his new ability of pulling himself up.  He isn't standing on his own just yet, but he is on his way!  Of course, every time my daughter sees the photos I hear "it's my horse!" over my shoulder.. and I have to explain, it's actually Mommy's horse but since it is a little small I share it with you!  Haha.  Anyhow, Spring is coming!!! Oops.. I mean, Spring is here! (I forget since it snowed 2 days ago!). And that means, lovely outdoors sessions will be back in popular demand soon! Don't forget to book yours! ;)

Sweet 16 | Manhattan, Kansas | Senior Portrait Photographer

A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by a past client of mine about her cousin that was coming to Kansas from Florida as a "Sweet 16" gift.  I was told that she was a country girl at heart and really wanted some Kansas-country photos for her session.  I was pretty sure that could be arranged! ;)

We went to two local places in Manhattan in order to get a variety of images.  God blessed me again with warm weather for the day and we managed to finish up just as the temperature was dropping and the crazy winds were coming out to play for the night! Her photos turned out absolutely gorgeous and really helped to capture the essense of "Sweet" 16 with a country feel!  Hey, maybe she will send me some more 16 year olds from Florida??!

6 Month Portraits | Manhattan, Kansas | Family Photographer

Ok, so this is a LITTLE delayed.. but the Christmas season is crazy and it got overlooked! Here is an adorable 6 month session of one of my cutest returning clients! I have so enjoyed watching her from womb to now (she is actually 9 months old now!!).  Her 6 month birthday was timed just perfectly with Christmas, so of course we had to take advantage of the season!

Newborn Girl {3 days New} | Manhattan, Kansas | Photographer

What were you up to on Valentine's Day this year? Well, I was photographing this little sweetheart before her Daddy headed back to Germany! Mom & Baby hope to be there soon as well, but for now, they were kind enough to join me in my studio so I could capture her during those precious first few days.  She was a very light sleeper and was very posessive of her hands! She certainly kept us on our toes, but we were able to improvise and get some beautiful shots for Mom & Dad to cherish.. particularly Dad who misses her so very much!

Engagement / Save the Date | Manhattan, Kansas | Professional Wedding Photographer | Stacey Zoll Photography

I had a fun little session with this military couple about a week ago.  In the midst of our FREEZING winter, they managed to schedule for a day with some sunshine! WOOHOO! Since they aren't from around here, we took the photos in the midst of some tall grass that didn't look frozen to death to give their recipients a view of the Kansas prairie! It was much nicer than the other option of lifeless trees I think.. wouldn't you agree? =)  There was a bit of a wind chill factor but we did as much as we could as fast as we could and now they are on their way to some adorable Save the Date cards for their upcoming wedding!  Today, however, I think it is 20 degrees outside and I'm freezing my knickers off in my own house (No, I don't actually own knickers.. but I like the way that sounds)!  Stay warm people!!!
