Topeka Wedding at Great Overland Station | Professional Photographer Stacey Zoll Photography

Why hello! This wedding and reception both took place at the historic Great Overland Station in Topeka, Kansas this past February.  It made for a large area that was accommodating to all of the guests and has a pretty balcony area overlooking the main area for extended seating & viewing.  You can visit the venue's website for more information regarding the historical significance of the station.  As is often the case when I am the photographer, we lucked out with some pretty awesome weather for a winter wedding! (Awesome according to my opinion that is, which means it wasn't freezing and the sun was out!! YAY!!).

This Adorable couple is so sweet and kind and were such a pleasure to work with.  Their wedding colors were a blush pink and dark blue, and their decor and fresh flowers were fun and beautiful and represented the couple well.   The welcome table had many cute details but my favorite was their "Shake it like a Polaroid picture" song reference as their greeters snapped a photo of the guests as they arrived for their guest book.  What a fun new trend to remember guests and make it personal!

The couple chose to do a First Look prior to the ceremony so we could complete most of the family formals beforehand and they could go right into the reception afterward.  The ceremony was short and sweet and consisted of hand-written vows by the Bride & Groom.  A friend of theirs was ordained for the event in order to be the one to announce them "Mr. & Mrs." 

The reception, with DJ services provided by Marcus of Affordable Pro DJ Service, was full of fun, laughter, and happily ever after as the guests drank, laughed, and danced the night away.  

This was an all-around great day and it was such a pleasure sharing in their celebration.  Thanks so much to the happy couple for having me as your photographer.  I wish a lifetime of happiness, encouragement, and God's blessings. A Lawrence Wedding at Abe & Jake's Landing | Professional Manhattan, KS Wedding Photographer

Hello, hello! Last Sunday I attended a wedding at Abe & Jake's Landing in Lawrence, Kansas where I was (wait for it...) the photographer!  It was a relaxing day, an awesome location, and a beautiful occasion.  The ambiance at Abe & Jake's is really unique and fun. The building is an old barbed-wire factory located right on the banks of the Kansas River and is now on the historic registry.  There are a number of beautiful spots inside the venue to take photos; it is a photographer's playland!  It was such a hot day that we did all of the photos inside the building, except for a couple that we took on the outside patio overlooking the river in the evening.

The Bride and Groom wanted a relaxed, stress-free day that was focused around the vows they would share.  I really enjoy and appreciate these simple weddings because it not only focuses on the true importance of the wedding day, but it allows me time to observe and capture real, candid moments that I don't always have the time to get during an otherwise busy day.

The best man/maid of honor's toasts were very well done with a bit of humor and sentiment, the prayers that were said with the wedding party prior to the event brought happiness to my heart, and the DJ did a great job at keeping the reception fun.  The flowers and the cake were done beautifully to match the blue and yellow wedding colors; the venue looked awesome.  It really was an enjoyable occasion down to the last detail, and I am so happy I was there to be a part of it.  I wish these two a lifetime of love and happiness always as they place God at the center of their lives and their marriage.
